Job Opportunity: Female Personal Support Worker
Location: Barrow Upon Humber, DN19
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: 14 hours per week (Mondays and Tuesdays)
Salary: £25.00 per hour
Benefits: Flexitime, holidays, and daytime shifts (Monday to Friday).

About the Role
We’re seeking a compassionate and skilled Female Personal Support Worker to provide high-quality support to a young female adult who is profoundly deaf. This role focuses on enabling her to access the community, engage in social and leisure activities, and develop life skills—without involving personal care, heavy lifting, or medication administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the client with social and leisure activities, such as swimming, cinema trips, and hobbies.
- Assisting with daily tasks in the home, fostering independence.
- Facilitating outings for shopping and activities.
- Supporting attendance at local hubs, activity centres, and medical appointments.
- Encouraging and prompting the client to maintain personal hygiene.

We’re looking for someone with:
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a warm, approachable manner.
- A qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) to effectively communicate with the client.
- A genuine interest in supporting young people and adults with learning disabilities.
- Qualities that motivate, encourage independence, and inspire confidence.
- Experience in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional way.
- A driving license and access to a vehicle (with business insurance) would be advantageous.
Essential Requirements:
- A current DBS certificate (or willingness to update/apply for one).
Location: The role is based in Barrow Upon Humber, DN19. Flexibility and availability on Mondays and Tuesdays are required.
