Sustainability and Carbon Reduction Manager
We are currently working on behalf of Ongo in Lincolnshire as they look to recruit a Sustainability & Carbon Reduction Manager.
Based in Scunthorpe
Salary up to £40000 p.a.
Overall Purpose of Job
To lead on the development of sustainability and carbon reduction plans across the whole of Ongo Partnership, providing planning, management and coordination to achieve Ongo’s aim of being a net Zero organisation by 2050.
Act as champion and assume the lead for carbon reduction and sustainability.
Lead on the implementation of Carbon Reduction and Sustainability policies and practices throughout Ongo
Develop and implement an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting framework
Develop organisational sustainability and carbon reduction
Collect, collate, audit, analyse and maintain data, relating to sustainability and carbon reduction activities across all areas of the business, writing appropriate reports.
Produce sustainability and carbon reduction educational and information resources and provide training for colleagues, customers and stakeholders, including hosting and presenting training, awareness and information sessions to internal and external audiences
Promote and raise awareness of the impact of climate change issues to colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
Seek and build appropriate relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as contractors, suppliers, customers, partner agencies and carbon reduction specialists, identifying partnership and funding opportunities
Keep up to date with environmental, sustainability and carbon reduction legislation.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and advisory groups/ campaign groups relevant to sustainability, carbon reduction and environmental issues
Knowledge, Skill & Experience Required
An interest in sustainability, carbon reduction and environmental issues
Self-motivated, well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to inspire others
Experience of developing strong relationships internally and externally, representing the organisation on working groups, at conferences and events
Skilled in report writing and the development and delivery of presentations to a variety of audiences
Skilled in data gathering, able to bring together data from a variety of sources and stakeholders
Ability to influence policy and future organisational direction, creating policy and procedure documents as required
Skills to influence a positive culture of understanding and commitment to sustainability, environmental and carbon neutrality issues
Financial and commercial awareness and the ability to analyse complex information with clarity
