Plumbing and Heating Apprenticeship
We are currently recruiting for 2x plumbing and heating apprentices to join one of our local commercial businesses Hales and Coultas, which is a part of the Ongo group.
These apprenticeships are for 48 months and you will complete a level 3 plumbing and domestic heating technician.
These roles are full time Monday to Friday. The rate of pay in the first 12 months is £4.15 per hour.
In the role you will do various task including installation of baths, sinks and toilets. It will also include some tasks associated with plumbing works; such has joinery & wall tiling.
Duties will include:
Maintenance of domestic plumbing and heating systems.
Installation of new systems.
General maintenance and repairs.
To undertake, where necessary, associated work including minor building repairs as identified on site
Attend college and complete coursework on time and to a high standard.
Learn from various trade staff as part of the learning process.
To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
To attend and fully participate in regular training and reviews.
Creativity & Innovation
Under the guidance of their mentor the role will;
Identify improvements to working practises.
Carry out minor tasks from associated trades.
Identify areas where Value for Money can be achieved.
Decision Making – Discretion
Understands and puts into practice all actions related to Health & Safety.
With the guidance of mentors and colleagues can make decisions on best way to carry out the repair.
Makes effective decisions related to determine the suitability of the materials required to carry out the job.
Under the guidance of mentors, ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with policies and procedures.
Decision Making – Consequences
For ensuring that safe working methods are used.
Right first time repairs are carried out where possible.
Customer satisfaction remains high.
Responsibility for Resources
Responsible for ensuring that equipment, plant and materials are appropriate.
Generally undertaking works within the priorities set out.
Health & Safety
To be aware of risks to personal safety, other employees, customers, company property and company reputation and to highlight such risks to managers immediately.
To be able to identify risks that may affect the achievement of personal and service objectives.
To support the organisation's risk management process through good communication and carrying out actions to reduce identified risks
